Psychologist calls out games as one reason kids are sexualized

Big Brother's Dr. Linda Papadopoulos has said that part of the blame for children being sexualized in this day and age has to do with videogames.

Papadopoulos, a clinical psychologist at London Metropolitan University, has been commissioned by the Home Office to investigate sexualization of children and teenagers and her findings are to be published in the next two weeks.

"We are hypersexualizing girls, telling them that their desirability relies on being desired," she said, reports The Evening Standard. "They want to please at any cost. And we are hypermasculinizing boys — many feel that they can't live up to the porn ideal, sleeping with lots of women.

“If I am constantly told that a sexy girl is one who satisfies a lot of men, do I really have a choice? It is a drip, drip effect. Look at porn stars and look at how an average girl looks now.”

Papadopoulos went on to criticize games that contain highly sexual content, like Miss Bimbo, where girls compete to "accumulate boob jobs in order to marry a billionaire".

The good doctor also pointed to art pamphlets Zoo and Nuts as other offenders.
