Next Assassin's Creed has a "narrative justification" for the multiplayer

ACII Bonfire

Ubisoft was on hand at DICE this week, and it was revealed that the next Assassin's Creed would not only see Ezio return to Rome, but that the multiplayer in it would have a "narrative justification".

Speaking with Kotkau, creative director Patrice Desilets, and lead writer Corey May also revealed that the game would have a full single-player campaign, and that it's currently in the hands of Ubisoft Montreal.

Desilets told the site that since it took a year to create the technology for Assassin's Creed II, it will be easier for the developer to turn this next game around more swiftly - thus the reason it's coming out so quickly.

The next AC is expected to be released by the end of March 2011, and the PC version of ACII was announced this week for release next month,.

Console versions of ACII saw the Bonfire of the Vanities DLC released this week, as well.
