Vigil Games’ GM, David Adams, and comic book artist Joe Madureira will be present at DICE tomorrow, giving a talk on how to launch a new IP.
Titled “From Pencils to Pixels: The Journey of Creating Original IP For Consoles”, the presentation will highlight the “process and perils” involved in bringing a new franchise like Darksiders to market.
“Our aim was to establish Vigil as a leading development studio and we set the bar extremely high with the launch of Darksiders, said Adams. “We are excited to be able to share our experiences to date.
“With projects like the eagerly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 MMORPG and the sequel to Darksiders in the pipeline, I hope to see Vigil Games further cement its position within the industry.”
Should be an interesting talk.
Darksiders shipped approximately 1.2 million units during its first four weeks on the market, and during January it moved 308.2K units on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US combined.
A 90-minute demo for the game was announced this week.
The game hit US retail on January 5 and the UK on January 8.
