Japanese hardware charts: PSP keeps on rolling

That PSP sales train just keeps on going as it was the best selling hardware last week in Japan.
Choo-choo.
The handheld sold 43k, just over 7k more then it’s nearest rival Wii. It sold over 36k.
DSi LL came third with 28k, which is over 2k more then PS3. The Sony machine sold 25k.
Find the rest of the list below. Last week’s data is here.
- PSP – 43,163
- Wii – 36,149
- DSi LL – 28,080
- PS3 – 25,450
- DSi – 19,116
- DS Lite – 5,410

Christ, if Japan isn’t buying the PSPgo, god knows how badly it’s doing in America and Europe. They have well and truly botched this, and the idea of having to do a relaunch says it all, really.

I’m amazed how well the DSiLL is selling!

I think a relaunch would encompass changes and alterations to PSN as well, and not just the Go.

The failure of the Go just proves that no-one’s ready for a digital-only console just yet.
Have you seen the DSi LL, Blerk? It’s a thing of beauty, it really is. By far the nicest iteration of the DS to date, if a little unwieldy on the move. Great to play at home, though.

On a different note, the Wii is back to selling what it was in November. The PS3 sales are the lowest since the slim was released. The 360, back to its November numbers too.

I’ve not seen an LL, no. I’d like to have a look at one though, hopefully they’ll have demo pods in the shops before long.
