StarCraft II's closed Beta will begin this month, Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime just confirmed.

The game itself is still on schedule for a mid-2010 launch, Morhaime said, with the Beta to include thousands of testers from all over the globe to help "generate new excitement for StarCraft II".

Testing was supposed to hit last year, but was pushed into 2010 last November.

Morhaime's comments were made in the Activision Blizzard full-year earnings call.
