Ubisoft Q3 sales broken down by console, territory

consoles

Ubisoft has released its Q3 revenue figures, and sent along a lovely chart depicting sales broken down by region and console.

Looks like Europe cornered the market for the company with 48 percent of sales coming from the territory, and PS3 and Xbox 360 tied with title sales.

For the 9 months leading into Q3 FY09/10, which ends March 31, 48 percent of sales came from Europe, 44 percent from North America, and 7 percent from the rest of the globe.

During the same time period, sales designated by console titles saw PS3 sales and Xbox 360 sales tie at 26 percent.

Wii titles accounted for 21 percent of sales for the company, DS 14 percent, PC 6 percent, PSP 4 percent and and PS2 1 percent.

Still, Q3 revenue came in at €495 million, which was down 2.7 percent from the same period last year, with sales dropping 22.4 percent to €661 million compared to €852 million for the three quarters ending December 31, 2008.

Charts are good. What? PC amounts to 2% (boxed product only would be the assumption), but what does the ‘other’ category refer to, anyone know? Whatever it is, it’s only just less popular than their PSP lineup.

“Others” is probably their mobile phone stuff.

As for PC; 7% in Q3 08 vs. 2% in Q3 09. Proof! Decline! Words! Solid! etc…

Ubisoft does not respect alot pc gamers. Thery also make the worse ports for pc gaming. Their game devs trash talk pc gaming. I predicted that Ubisoft will be the next interplay, midway to go bankuprt.

I wouldn’t call BG&E an ‘established’ IP. I’d imagine for a sequel they’d have to reinvent the franchise to make it sell well.

the reason ubisoft is where at is because they depend too much on the wii. the casual gamer left the wii. Now they turn to hig production costing consoles. they as I see it they have a lot to lose.

my words are solid

did I not say a few months ago that ubisoft would be where it’s at right now.

do you really think things will get better they are going to get worse.

A Tie Looks Bad For The 360 Considering They’ve Sold 5.5 Million More 360 Units Then PS3′s.
