Rumor: Dead Space: Extraction, Planet Cracker invading XBLA, PSN

In space, no one can hear you scream. At least, that's what we thought until we played Dead Space, which had us screeching in pitches so high that our beards threatened to leave us for better men.

Fortunately for our poor hearts, two Dead Space-themed games - Dead Space: Extraction and Planet Cracker - will hopefully offer a change of Dead Space pace when they arrive on XBLA and PSN.

A survey that found its way into Kotaku's hands seems to indicate that both are at least in the planning phases. Dead Space: Extraction, of course, would be an HD port of the Wii's premier "guided first-person experience."

Planet Cracker, meanwhile, seems to be a strategy title based in the Dead Space universe. Described as a "resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation," your accomplishments in the game will apparently fatten up your purse in Dead Space 2 - sort of like Fable II's pub games.

Sounds great, except for one thing. But we just can't put our finger on what that one thing is. It's not the concept or the genre or the bonus features and it's definitely the name.
