Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in development for Wii

ghostrecon3

Ubisoft’s just confirmed it’s developing a Ghost Recon title specifically for Wii.

Nothing else was mentioned on it other then it’ll be created just for the system, and it’ll be different then Ghost Recon: Future Soldier for PS3 and 360, which was just announced today.

The Wii version’s being developed by a separate team from the 360 and PS3 title, specifically for the  Wii population.

No release date was announced, but PSP and DS users will see some Ghost Recon love as well.

The news came as part of Ubisoft’s Q3 earnings call, which also confirmed Rome as a location for the next Assassin’s Creed title, due this year.

Why?

It will undersell and then Ubisoft will complain about Wii sales again..

They must love wasted effort. Unless they some how work mini-games and Rabbids in there i doubt it’ll sell much.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier with graphics stuck in the past. Sorry I know. Naughty trolling

Seriously though. Here’s what Im thinking.

People who play these sort of games, – COD, MoH, Ghost Recon, would typically have either a PS3 or 360 by now, right?

And the people who have the Wii either don’t like these games, and prefer something lighter, or would have a 360/PS3 as well.

So what is the point?

I find it Ironic though that for the picture in this story the old Ghost Recon 2 cover/picture yet that game will have both better graphics and just generally be better than this game will be!

It might cover its cost if it’s released as a WiiWare title. Otherwise, I can only guess Ubisoft likes wasting money or is doing something to intentionally lower their share price.

Oh man, developing hardcore titles on Wii is a waste of time AND money. When will publishers learn!!!

People simply don’t want the “also ran, low budget spin off title” when the intented audiance can buy the real thing on other consoles or a PC.
Who’s interested in a Dead Space light gun game when they can get Dead Space 2 in a couple months times? And the price is exactly the same.
Same here, why get the watered down Ghost Recon when the real thing is also availebel?
