“Something far-reaching coming” for Mass Effect next year, says EA

EA’s just confirmed it’s bringing “something far-reaching” for Mass Effect is coming next year.
We’re unsure who said it at the time, we think it might have been EA COO John Schappert, but the comapny did say it would be coming in the company’s Q4 FY11 line-up, which translates into January – March 2011.
We think the firm also mentioned something about the Cereberus Network for Mass Effect 2, but we’re not exactly sure exactly what. We’ll look at the transcript tomorrow morning and see what it was.

I just hope the success of ME2 doesn’t mean EA decide we need annual sequels from the franchise…

@Bulk
You and me both. Then it would seem EA has gone back to its older days.

Can’t confirm what doesn’t exist.
Yet, anyway.
Would be a bit pointless anyway, what with the importing features in ME2 and planned for ME3.

MMO baby yeah!
(I wish. An MMO in the Mass Effect universe would rock.)

Either an MMO, or PS3 will get its own chronicle set in the Mass Effect world (galaxy, universe, etc.)
I doubt they’ll get involved in the Shepard saga at this stage, but Bioware may give up some ME love anyway.

Yup, definetly the PS3 version. 360 fanboys can cry all they want but the fact of the matter is the 360 just isn’t selling, which is why all of it’s exclusives have to make the jump.
Bioshock, Lost Planet, Star Ocean, GTA: Episodes From Liberty City……..Mass Effect and Splinter Cell: Conviction will follow, as will Dead Or Alive 5.
The 360′s pitiful hardware sales make it a very unattractive proposition for anything other than timed – exclusivity.
