EA just confirmed that Crysis 2 will release in EA’s third quarter next year, meaning it’ll ship between October-December 2010.
The company also said that a Need for Speed game will ship in the quarter. As noted here, that means we’re going to get a new NfS in the Christmas quarter, then another game in the first three months of calendar 2011.
The Crysis fanboys will be popping corks, though. The game’s set in New York and features a fully updated Nanosuit, complete with new abilities. Get more on that here.
The new comes as part of EA’s Q3 2010 fiscal release, alongside confirmation that Dead Space 2, “Dragon Age Title TBA”, “Shooter from Epic TBA”, “Need For Speed Title TBA” and “Action Title TBA” will all ship between January-March 2011.

Crysis and Medal of Honor are their bid for the top no doubt. MoH is going for the CoD ground and Crysis I think is going to be a big new comer for the console crowd. It’ll sell on it’s graphics and I hope people will enjoy the fantastically realised gun play that will no doubt return for the sequel. Crysis will need a redo on the multiplayer though, it’s very rough around the edge’s in both Crysis and Crysis wars and it wont really gel with a broad audience. The fact that the PC crowd has been championing Crysis for nearly 3 years will be a big word of mouth boost for 2 I think.
Basically, I want this stuff
