Rumor: Sonic to appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2

Rumor going around the net is that Sonic will make an appearance in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

According to a source close to Nintendo magazine NGamer, the iconic hedgehog will be in the Green Hill Galaxy level.

We’ll mail both Nintendo and SEGA on this and see if we get a bite.

Here’s a video released for it back in June during E3, and if you’re worried about it being easy peasy – don’t be.

Miyamoto says it will be challenging.

I’ve never been against anything in videogames as this… Marcus and Dom in LP2 is bad enough but this… this is just shameless!

Hopefully this rumor will turn out to be *NOT* true and I think Nintendo knows this. There’s no room for Sonic in a story-driver Mario platform game, be it NSMB or SMG…

Now I now the story doesn’t make any reference to Sonic being playable in the game, but would it not be somewhat ironic, just as Sega are calling it quits and taking Sonic back to 2D, that Nintendo manage to make a 3D game with Sonic in it that is, you know, good?
