Dante’s Inferno – Descent Video

EA and Visceral sent us over a video for Dante’s Inferno, and we have it posted below the break for you and on YouTube.
The video is still being processed, so it will look better in a few minutes.
Game’s already out in Europe, and hits North America on Tuesday.

Better? Depends on what it looked like before. Video and sound are pretty poor right now as far as i can see.

It is still processing on the tube is why I asked.
Edit – It looks just fine now on my end. Never had an issue with the sound at all.

Yeah, watching it again now it looks better. No artifacts on the video and compressed sound.

Anyone playing this yet?
How is it? Ever since the demo I’ve had overwhelming feelings of meh for the game… it just feels far too much like a God of War imitator without the visceral sensation of God of War.
Am I wrong? is it good?

it does seem like the game is decentish really and as butchered as the story is I am intrigued to see how it will go.
I think thats maybe cos I wanna see the ending to think how far this could be milked
and just to see visceral’s vision of satan too

Been playing this all evening. It’s very much God Of War 2.5 HD, but credit to Visceral, that’s still very high praise and the engine used is clearly capable of pushing out a silky smooth 60fps, whilst keeping everything looking sharp.
The horrors of hell are laid pretty bare, and if you can get past the comedy element of being chased by women’s groins and swinging past fire breathing sphincters, it stays true to the bleak and relentlessly desperate depiction of hell found in the original poem.
It’s certainly no push over though. I’ve found myself struggling past a few sections already, and the distance between save points has been an unwelcome surprise. Some good set pieces though, and crucially the combat is satisfying.
Punishing or absolving certain characters for their sins makes for a welcome distraction too, and the platform element seems competent enough.
If you’re a fan of God Of War I think it’s a no brainer really. I’d stop short of saying it’s as good, or that the combat ultimately delivers that feeling of empowerment which is at the heart of GoW’s combat, but you’d be hard pressed not to enjoy it if a good hack and slash is your thing.

@ Robo 1: you took the words right out of my mouth…The reviews are not great but almost every review is a copy-paste job. I played the game at Cologne:Germany ( I’m Dutch myself ) and hated it for aping GoW, but now I,m playing the retail version and this a great game for everyone who likes games as DMC / Darksiders/ Bayonetta…it may not be a great as those games but it’s still a great action game with an awesome 60pfs which never ever lets down and makes the GoW demo even look ‘slow’ sometimes. Anyone who does not buy this game because of some bad reviews is gonna miss out. As far as I can say it’s on par with Darksiders. And it’s a blast to use the Holy Cross as a weapon!!
This game really deserves a decent chance…

Umm… FAIL.
Ain’t Was Added To The Dictionary A Few Years Ago, Dumb Ass.
“Y’all” Is From Texas, Not “Ain’t”, Learn Your Shit, That Is If You Want To Actually Try & Make Fun Of Someone, Better Luck Next Time.

ain’t
• contraction informal 1 am not; are not; is not. 2 has not; have not.
— USAGE: In modern English the use of ain’t is non-standard and should not be used in formal or written contexts, despite being widespread in many dialects and in informal speech.

And it’s a grammatically incorrect statement anyway.
