Yakuza 3 video is nothing short of awesome

SEGA’s released a video for Yakuza 3, and we’ve posted it below the break for you.
Game lands in stores next month, and if you’re in the US, GameStop has some pre-order goodies up for grabs.
Glad that’s sorted, no go watch the video.

Erm, what sort of game is this anyway? I had something like GTA with role-playing elements in my head, but no it looks like a mini game collection cum quicktime event fighting game.

Think Shenmue with more content but weaker combat. That is that game.

Ever played River City Ransom? (NES-era RPG/Beat ‘em up hybrid) well this could fit that category too, only much evolved.

I think the important thing is to NOT go into this game expecting something like GTA. Its pretty far from it.

look so fuckin fun. And this is coming from sum1 who does NOT care for GTA. I got tired of that series after wasting hours on it at the age of 13. lol. I do however liek japanese culture, and yakuza r verrrrrry popular in jap. movies no matter how srs/silly they make it. Plus, beat em ups r the shit!!!

Whoever says that Yakuza games play like Shenmue basically don’t know what they’re talking about…
Syrok , Yakuza is a story driven beat em’ up (lots of videos in there)with mini-games sprinkled for a good measure.
And that’s basically it, do not expect to free roam in the game’s world or anything since you’re – basically – going from point A to point B to watch a video and then beat up some more people
Also, the mini games are optional…

You just described Shenmue.
Well, i guess theres abit more free-roaming in Shenmue, or atleast there is in Shenmue 2.
