Leaked Duke Nukem: Forever footage shows wild west

dukenukema

Some leaked gameplay footage of Duke Nukem: Forever’s got out.

The video shows a couple of environments for the shooter, including a wild west backdrop.

We want this. But we can’t have it.

The game was supposedly canned last year after ten years in development, after developer 3D Realms shut up shop.

But recent hints from voice actor John St. John insinuate the project is, indeed, still alive.

Find the footage below. Thanks, Kotaku.

for this they worked for 12 years?

Old Doom 3 ID tech engine looks so outdated that you can even put it to PS2 or XBOX 1.

Far Cry on Xbox 1 looked much better than this.

I dont think much ‘working’ really went on in those 12 years tbh.

Oh dear, dear, dear. That really is piss awful, as has been said, stuff like Riddick, Doom 3 and Far Cry on Xbox looked better.

DNF really is a poster child for how not to develop a game. When you think the guys at Naughty Dog managed to release Uncharted 2 after only 18 months of development, it highlights just how much of a complete cluster fuck the whole DNF saga has been.

Looking at that video a second time, it really is tragic. Twelve years developing a game which looks 5 generations out of date. They must have been nowhere near completion… incredible.

ID Tech 4 is old, but it isn’t *that* bad. For some scenes it works surprisingly well even today because it can produce dramatic yet vibrant lighting. Yup, I liked the way Prey looks on PC. =)

While I would say those graphics don’t have nearly as much charm as the old duke3d, still want this, because yay nostalgia! :)

Also, what’s up with that music?

It’s pretty hard to judge most of the graphics there as the video quality is absolutely atrocious.

I don’t really care about the graphics though, if it’s as fun and inventive as the original I’d still want to play it.
