Heavy Rain is a 4.2Gb install, lets you make origami

It has been revealed that Heavy Rain will weigh in at 4.2Gb when released later in the month.
However, while you’re waiting on the game disc to install the data, Quantic Dream provides you with something to occupy your time with.
While you sit there waiting on the required install, you can make Swan Origami in twelve steps. Surely this will take up most of your installation time, unless you are pro at creating it with a game controller already for some reason.
The game’s out on February 23 and 26, and reviews should start going up around February 10 when the embargo lifts.
Earlier today, a video from the game showing Madison Page taking a shower surfaced, and on Monday, the intro sequence was released along with more footage – only this time leaked.
Shew. Loads of Heavy Rain stuff already this week. Expect more to be revealed until the game hits shelves.

But how will I have time to make the customary “install sandwich” if I’m doing Origami?

amazon still says 23. february for the US and the 26th for Europe.
I’d love for it to be the 12th, though.

They should have done a video of Maddison strip teasing for during the install.
No install sandwich, but at least I’d have something to look at.

You could make a origami swan out of your sandwich. =)

These mandatory installs are a real pain in the ass. Especially if you only have a 20GB or 40GB PS3 fatty.

Odd that its got a mandatory install being an official Sony game. Must really need it i guess.

In a game like this I can see the need for an install, to be honest.

I agree with #9
I’ve never tried origami before, so I’m sure i’ll somehow mess it up then so I might just stick with my install sandwich

Technically it’s second party. If you take second party as the half way between third and first that is. It’s published first party and developed third party.

k it’s published by sony though so i would think it would receive similar rules/treatment to first party games

Bread folding… now that’s something I can get behind.

Sony own the IP. Its pretty much first party.

But they don’t own Quantanic Dream, so it’s not. Again, for the sake of argument I mean. It’s not a true first party game.

It’s like MS publishing Mass Effect for the 360. They don’t own Bioware in the same way Sony don’t own Quantic Dream. According to the Internets, a second party developer is more or less defined by an exclusive contractual agreement with the platform holder (correct me if I’m wrong).

Despite MS publishing ME though they dont have any right over the serie because they dont own the IP. Sony actually own the Heavy Rain IP. If they wanted they could ask another dev to make its sequel.

Currently at a toss up between Bioshock 2 or Heavy Rain. Not sure yet waiting for reviews.

Glad I recently installed a 500gb drive in mine. £60 on ebuyer. Bargain. It really is super simple to replace a 20/40gb drive.
