360 250Gb HDD being sold seperately in Japan from March 11

Microsoft Japan’s announced it will release a 250Gb Hard Disc Drive for Xbox 360 in the country.
It’ll be available on March 11 for ¥15,540 (£107).
Previously, the only way to get a 250Gb HDD was if you bought a special “Super Elite Bundle” for either Forza Motorsport 3, Modern Warfare 2 or Mass Effect 2.
The latter bundle was only released in Australia.
We’ll ask Microsoft if there are any plans to do the same in Europe and the UK.
Full PR is here. Thanks, Joystiq.

That’s fucking sad. There are far larger drives available.

That is another reason i love PS3, its easy to swap HHDs, any one you want at any price, shit for 500GB HDD with 7200 RPM you can get it for 80 dollars US! Xbox over charges

microsoft does overcharge for their hard drives but they can afford to.
It’s a dick move no doubt, but people like their xboxes and are willing to pay through the nose for a 250GB HDD. I would.

I would pay as well if I had no choice. But I use my PS3 for all media and games so for that system I got a cheap 180 gig HDD, while Xbox I only use it for gaming, so no need for a 250 gig upgrade for my xbox. 20 was and still is plenty!

Really Microsoft?.. I’m Mean Do They Really Believe It’s Worth The Effort?
I Think Someone Should Tell Them It’s Pointless To Release Them In Japan Or Even The UK.. Most People There Are Just Too Educated To Buy One. XD
