Ken Levine reveals Irrational’s canned zombie shooter, Division 9

In this month’s issue of Game Informer, the mag sat down with Irrational’s Ken Levine to chat about Division 9 – a zombie shooter that was scrapped by the firm.

The game would’ve put players in the middle of a zombie infested environment complete with co-op gameplay, “scarce resources, base-building, and strategic rescues” to content with. Sound familiar?

1C blames retail for PC sales decline, says digital will reign by 2011

1C’s international publishing director, Darryl Still, has said that due to retail “failing to support” boxed PC games, publishers will go the digital format only route by 2011.

Still claims that retail stores show disdain for PC titles by refusing to stock certain titles, and by pushing PC merchandise “to the back of the store”.

New Assassin’s Creed for FY2011, ACII pushes through 6M units

Ubisoft’s confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game is to release in its coming fiscal year.

It’ll be the first in the series to have an online multiplayer mode.

The company also said today that Assassin’s Creed II has exceeded the 6 million units sold mark, and fully expects the title to reach 9 million sell-in units by March 2010.
