MS taking a “wait and see” approach to Alan Wake 2

Microsoft has said that it’s taking a “wait and see” approach to an Alan Wake sequel since the first one has yet to make it out the door.
Speaking with CVG, MS said that the episodic nature of the game will see DLC released later in the year, but for now Remedy’s concentrating on the final product.
“It’s unique and gripping story – heavily influenced by pop culture classics – is brought to life using techniques reminiscent of modern movies and TV shows,” said MS product marketing manager Laura Disney.
“As Robbie Bach announced at CES earlier this month, the episodic nature of Alan Wake will see DLC become available for title later in the year. As for a sequel, we’ll have to wait and see.
“The goal of Alan Wake is create an intense experience for the player, and though ‘psychological thriller’ might not be a genre we are used to applying to games, Alan Wake is definitely not something you’ve experienced before.”
Slated for release in the spring, Remedy has assured gamers that the title will get a conclusive and satisfactory ending and that the team has some “great ideas” for DLC.
Alan Wake is expected to be on-hand at Microsoft’s X10 event in San Francisco next month.

If Remedy make it, notice how this is coming from a MS product marketing manager.

“here is another game dev that ditched it’s fan base!”
What? All of Remedy’s previous games have been on console and are recognised as being consoles games. As for Alan Wake, its a new IP, theres no fanbase to ditch yet.

The game was always planned for 360 along with PC, blame Microsoft for shelving the PC version, not Remedy.
And either way, that dosnt really say much for this “fanbase” you’re talking about. People could want the game on PS3, dosnt mean Microsoft and Remedy are ‘ditching’ that fanbase.

why using words like ´hate´?…they might not prefer…but hating? you´re getting too emotional here…the pc aint your girlfriend, right? (i hope)…why are so many pc gamers so pissed about console gamers anyway…i don´t get it…it´s the same games different medium…we all like games…good…there are different gaming devices out there nowadays, thats just how it is…if you don´t want to miss out on any games you got to get different devices…but you don´t have to play everything…there are enough good games on every platform…more than you probably should play anyway in order to have a real life as well….it´s funny that ms already starts talking about alan wake 2 after talking about alan wake 1 for 5 years or so now…thats either brave or ignorant, can´t decide…
