Blur dev diary focuses on story progression

blur1b

Bizarre’s released a new video for its racer, Blur, which focuses on story progression.

Published by Activision and expected sometime this year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, the game was originally slated for release on November 3, 2009.

Instead, it was pushed into 2010 in order to add “additional time to fully optimize a distinctive and groundbreaking multiplayer mode”.

Earlier in the month, a USK listing outed a possible online multiplayer demo for for the title.

Ah, yes the all important story in racing games. It can make or break a game like that.

Aww come on, show Blur some love…even though it looks terrible.

I really don’t understand why people are so hard on this game, or think it looks bad…

It’s a Midnight Club rip off, but everything that they’ve shown so far simply doesn’t look as good.

My remark was directed at racing games with story in general. :)

As for this game, I’m not really interested in weapon based arcade racers but it could be fun.

I have doubts over this combination they’ve put together making for enjoyable racing, in the least.

I quite liked the stories in Ridge Racer Type 4… I must admit this trailer made me a little more interested in Blur, but nothing about it seems to jump out and make me excited for it.

I think the main failing is the urban environment, it’s too over-used in racing games these days and is getting quite dull. I don’t know if that’s all they have in there, but if it is, maybe they need to take a page out of OutRun 2′s book and have some variety… (e.g. snow, ruins, jungles, beaches, etc).

This game looks like it’s made of fail. Roll on Split/Second!
