DICE refuses to comment on Mirror’s Edge 2

Mirror's Edge

DICE has refused to comment on the ongoing development of Mirror’s Edge 2.

“I can’t really comment on that because we haven’t officially announced that we’re working on it,” said producer on Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Karl-Magnus Todesson.

“But we were very happy and proud of Mirror’s Edge one as a studio, so we are thinking about what we are going to do in the future.”

This completely goes against what was said last June, when DICE boss Patrick Söderland said a “small team” was working on a sequel for the game.

EA CEO John Riccitello said last month that it “deserves” a second game.

We could be hearing about it sooner then later, though.

It seems it’s well into production, according to a CV from a Lighting Artist.

The original released back in November 2008 for PS3 and 360, while the PC version released in early January last year.

Oh, just do it. It was good, just needs a little bit less getting shot at and more running through/above the city.

After having played the first one and seeing how sub-par it was i cant really say if its good or bad news. Just news i dont care about.

This is a relief to read. Too many people release too much information too soon these days IMO.

I was just playing through Mirror’s Edge today, it’s always fun to have a quick dash across the rooftops. I love the look of Mirror’s Edge, I still say it’s the best looking game of this generation. The colour palette and shaders along make it look totally unique.

If they can fix the combat and dump the tacky cut-scenes full of 1984 clichés they should be onto a real winner with a sequel.

I’d be up for a sequel. I’m sure they’re working on it, it’s been mentioned too many times by too many people for them not to be.
