Michael Pachter gets his own show on GameTrailers TV

Looks like analyst Michael Pachter has been given his own show on GameTrailers TV.
Here’s the official blurb:
Pachter has broken free and is attacking the internet with his biggest winners and losers of 2009!
Called The Pach Attack, the first episode has Pachter talking about exactly what the blurb says – his opinion of the biggest winners and losers of 09.
His biggest loser: The music genre becauseĀ The Beatles: Rock Band, GH: Van Halen and Guitar Hero: Metallica “just didn’t capture consumer’s imaginations” and this loss accounted for two-thirds of the decline in game sales in 2009.
He also says that the genre went from a $1.65 billion business to a $875 million one.
The biggest winner? The hardcore gamer because of some of the great titles that came out.
“The big standout for me was Batman: Arkham Asylum,” he said. “That game just came out of nowhere, just kind of in the middle of the year and the hardcore gamer just scored with a game like that.
“We clearly got some other great games: Borderlands, which I was completely wrong about (GASP! – SN), and of course, Modern Warfare 2, which was the big game of the year”.
Seriously. Whether you love him or hate him, it’s worth the watch.

Saw “The Pach Attack” yesterday on GT-TV.
I’m about his age and defended his position most of the time because he doesn’t look at the industry from a gamers perspective but instead from a strictly business angle.
This was at times refreshing but what he’s doing now is just ridiculous!

So he’s either going to be boring or wrong. No doubt Gametrailers deeply regrets singing him up for a show.

He’s great, isn’t he? He’s like someone’s dad who accidentally wound up on a show discussing stuff his kids are into.
