It’s simple over-sensitivity from some people; if someone isn’t outright defending their chosen format then, obviously, they must be attacking and therefore a fanboy.

The fact that most of us on these sites are ‘hardcore’ gamers and so by definition quite a few of us have most (if not all) platforms so we have any game which interests us just doesn’t seem to penetrate the heads of some commentors.

It’s kinda a shame to see the few ignorant posters.

I’ve been on a lot of sites (GT, Destructoid, Joystiq etc..) and a lot of the conversation there (especially on GT) ends up in misinformed fanboy rants and I will often get branded as such by defending a platform from posters talking rubbish.

Here, on VG247, I feel the the community is a lot more mature as a whole and I can speak my mind without being branded a moron, fanboy, retard etc.

Woah i go away and this is what i miss yep PT couldnt of said it better fanboyism is just stupid, both consoles have amazing games that have to be played. The only losers are the fanboys and ost of the time the reasons they state for not buying a console are just plain stupid

Jeez I post a simple little comment and get ten paragraphs back in response! I call it as I see it and it’s not like Psychotext posted only one comment putting Sony in the bad light, honestly I don’t remember even seeing one positive comment towards Sony from him. And who cares if Psychotext is a vet on this site it’s not like I haven’t been on this site for quite awhile now I just don’t post comments constantly.
@The Hindle so is it stupid when you do buy a console and it’s break a few times then you decide just to get rid of it and not spend your money on the same console twice or is it smart to support that company that just caused you to lose a couple hundred dollars! BTW all you analysts out there that say the 360 is beating the PS3 in sales in my the biggest reason for Microsoft having that sale number is the fact that quite a few 360 owners purchased more than one system. I’m betting the PS3 does have a bigger user base than the 360!
