PlayStation 3 sells 3 million in UK, confirms SCEE

Sony's confirmed that over 3 million PlayStation 3s have been sold in the UK.

It comes after a successful end of 2009 for the console, which seen a price-cut and the introduction a slimmer SKU, as well as the release of Uncharted 2.

It has won numourous Game Of The Year awards since its release in October, including VG247's Game of the Year.

At CES a couple of weeks back, SCE president Kaz Hirai said that over 3.8 million PS3s had been sold during the Christmas period.

It's unknown how many of those are for the UK or Europe.
