Total Live usage totals over 17 billion hours

Vomit-inducing stat time: Microsoft’s claimed that Live users have notched up enough hours on its online gaming service to account for two for every person on earth.
“In seven years, Xbox Live members have spent more than 17 billion hours on Xbox Live,” said MS’s Trixie360 on Twitter.
“That’s more than two hours for every person on the planet!”
As G4 points out, that’s about 2 million years, or around 850 hours for every one of the current 20 million-plus Live subscribers.
We don’t really know what to say.

Is that just the time they’ve spent playing games or is that the total amount of time they’ve been ‘logged in’, i.e. it’d include time spent on the dashboard or in the store or watching videos, etc.

“On Xbox live” Probably the amount of time people have been connected no matter what they’re doing or if they’re gold or silver.
