SCEE confirms Heavy Rain demo for February 11

heavyrain17

SCEE’s confirmed tonight that the demo for Heavy Rain will be on the PS Store from February 11.

“Heavy Rain demo should be on the store on the 11th of Feb,” said Mike Kebby on the EU PS Blog.

A couple of weeks back, an Sony spokesperson told VG247 that a demo was being planned before the game’s release near the end of February.

The first mention of a demo came last August during gamescom, when Quantic Dream boss David Cage told us that a teaser was being looked at.

Heavy Rain releases on February 23 in the US, and February 26 in the UK.

It got a 9/10  in its first review from OPM UK, but there ain’t no sequel coming for it, according to Cage.

Hope my internet is working properly by then so I can download it.

Wonder what scene they’ve chosen.

Nice. That’ll decide if my pre-order stays or goes.

I’ll probably buy the game,but i’ll try that out and if i have doubts then i’ll see the retail feedback from others
Demos should never be the deciding factor.We have seen many great games that their demos were misleading or not even what half the game actually is

I don’t generally listen to the opinion of forumites on exclusives… there’s a lot of people out there who can’t bring themselves criticise the games.

Demo should do nicely alongside the reviews.

I’m conflicted.

On the one hand I want to play the demo through fear of not liking the game.

On the other I want to experience the game as a whole, it seems like the type of story that would really benefit from that.

I’m pretty sure this demo will not be half as good as the retail.Even Cage had second thoughts about a demo because he believed which ever scene he puts in,it will not do justice to the whole game…either the demo will have an exploration/adventure scene or more action oriented he said they can’t put both in one demo.
Reviews???
that’s the worst
most reviews and scores nowadays are laughable

“Reviews???

After a while it’s quite easy to find reviewers that have the same sorts of opinions on games to you. Stick to them and you’re golden.

i do…but sometimes their reviews on some games are laughable.
An example.Famitsu magazine is one of the most respected and non BS magazines with fair reviews and scores
but look what they did there:

Haze = 34/40
Star Ocean 4 = 34/40
Lair = 33/40
Infinite Undercovery = 32/40
The Last Remnant = 38/40

@6

Then don’t pay attention to the scores then and .. I dunno, maybe READ THE REVIEW TEXT!

I agree that the game seems to warrant a playthrough as a whole rather than a vertical slice of something without much context.

But Famitsu have always been a joke zoopdeloop. I’m not sure who respects them, but I sure as hell don’t… at least not whilst the marketing budget of companies continues to influence how games score.

@9 No i don’t want to read the review text from a single individual person who is rumbling on how the game is or is not.I’d rather hear opinions from many different people with different tastes who played the game…and i’ll make judgment from that

I don’t think they are a joke Psycho whenever a game gets perfect score on Famitsu all gaming sites are on fire with the news.If it wasn’t respected,they wouldn’t give it so much attention like this is the BIG NEWS of the day.Like what happened with Bayonetta

That’s bullshit, you’re just being lazy.

Check the score, if you agree with it then don’t bother reading the score, fair dues, but if you disagree and have a problem with it read the review to see if the reviewer justifies his score… before judging it.

“Whenever a game gets perfect score on Famitsu all gaming sites are on fire with the news”

Only with Japanese games and only because Japanese games come out in Japan first and Famitsu are the first to review them. Sites pick up on it because they’re first most of the time and only when they rate a game highly/ridiculously, not because they’re ‘Famitsu’.

I’m not lazy onlineatron…i’m just not into reviews.Why would i want to hear one individual’s opinion (review) who to me is just a gamer while talking with many other gamers about it is much better?

Maybe you’re right,maybe not in the West but in the East it is a respected source of reviews and scores.

@Zoopdeloop

Sorry for calling you lazy, I just think it’s a bit wrong of you to dismiss reviews as rubbish and then not actually read them.

it’s ok onlineatron…no i don’t think reviews are rubbish.I just think it’s better to take account different opinions from many other gamers than an individual’s
