Mark Meer, protagonist Shepard's voice actor in Mass Effect, has confirmed he's signed up to do the trilogy's third game.

Speaking with RPGSite, Meer said: "Assume nothing, but yes, I have a contract. For a trilogy..."

He added, when asked if he knew anything about the next title's story: "In the dark, I'm afraid. At least, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it for the safety of my friends and family."

Earlier this morning, project lead for the series Casey Hudson revealed the Mass Effect trilogy will end on Xbox 360 and PC with Mass Effect 3.

The game's DLC system, The Cerberus Network got detailed last night, alongside the announcement of two new DLC packs.

Mass Effect 2 releases in the UK and US next week.
