Mass Effect 2's Thane and Collectors detailed

BioWare has updated the Mass Effect 2 site with new information on the Drell alien race and the Collectors.

First off is the Drell, which is what the assassin Thane is - a warrior-monk who believes his "body is the weapon wielded by his employers" and chooses his targets based on his moral and religious beliefs.

Thane can handle any firearm, but he's also a biotic who is able to manipulate foes at will.

Now on to the Collectors - who are the bad guys. These insect-like aliens are from beyond the Omega-4 mass relay, and are rarely seen in the Terminus system. They usually take captives that are sentient beings with "genetic aberrations", but have since moved on to collecting entire human colonies.

Collectors have fully developed wings, allowing them to traverse the battlefield and while susceptible to weaponry, can sometime become more resilient and discharge powerful missiles from their body.

Game's out next week, kiddos, and more on Thane and the Collector's can be found through the links above.

Earlier, BioWare detailed its DLC platform, The Cerberus Network, and revealed that a content pack would land day one with another to follow soon afterward.
