New GT5 screens, video released, still looks awesome

Some new shots of Gran Turismo 5 came out overnight.
They look good. Get them over at GAF.
A new video was also released, showing off the Toyota FT-86G.
Watch it below, thanks to GT Planet.
The game should look nice: yesterday, Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi revealed the racer will use over “80 percent” of the PS3′s processing power.
PS3′s “power” wasn’t enough to keep the title on track this week, however. On Wednesday, Sony delayed Gran Turismo 5, but only for Japan’s release in March.
There is no date yet for the US or Europe: something SCEE will be announcing “in due course.”
Luckily, though, there’s plenty of appetite for the racer. It was announced earlier this week that the GT Time Trial demo, seen as a taster for the full game, was downloaded over 1 million times since its launch in December last year.

What is this game?
It’s the first I’ve heard of it.
Is it out soon?
Looks nice.
Does it have damage modelling?

I’ve always been a big fan of GT – it’s THE franchise that defines my early years with Playstation (along with WipEout).
However, with this version taking soooo long to come out, I am losing patience. Unless the game is way beyond anything we’ve ever seen, it’s just not going to cut it, given all this development time.
And, as far as I am concerned, they can release a million amazing looking replay videos. What I care about is how the game looks while it’s being played, and all the in-game videos I have seen don’t suggest to me that GT5 is going to blow me away.

The 3D isn’t particularly impressive by all accounts though.

@4 – what accounts?
I thought the general feedback on PS3 3D ability was very favourable?

@5 – I can’t remember where I read it, but somebody at CES said that Super Stardust HD in 3D looked better than GT5 in 3D.
That’s not to say that overall it’s not impressive, though.

Yes it was on Kotaku, some fared much better than others as said above, but it was felt it didn’t really add much to the experience. Though to be honest what do you expect for a game that isn’t designed from the bottom up for it?

YES it has DAMAGE modelling, as well internal damage, DAY and NIGHT, weather effects, as well over 950 cars. Not to mention customization confirmed both for body kits and internal parts… Cheers..
