Martin Sheen really got into playing “The Man” in ME2, says BioWare

BioWare’s Casey Hudson has said that Martin Sheen, who lends his voice to Cerberus head the Illusive Man in Mass Effect 2, really got into the part.

“We told him that he has to say a line several times different ways because a player might tell you to take a flying leap or something,” said Hudson, who revealed that the very thought of such a comment to one’s superior sounded a bit insolent to Sheen.

“Sheen said, ‘Oooh, no. No. They’re not going to do that. Oh no, they wouldn’t say that.’” Hudson revealed to Kotaku.

The “mysterious and powerful” Illusive Man commands the secretive “pro-human organization dedicated to protecting mankind’s interests in the galaxy”, and is the type who believes the “end justifies the means”, at any cost – which sounds very Sheen like to us.

However, Sheen isn’t the only star power in the game as other announced cast members include Yvonne Strahovski, Michael Dorn, Tricia Helfer, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

Game’s out in a couple weeks, barring the end of the world.

It’s a shame they got well known(ish) actors to voice those roles.

Now when hear The Illusive Man I hear Martin Sheen instead of a character.

I can see that. While playing CoD:WaW, the man of the house bitched when I told him that Sgt.Reznov was Gary Oldman – said it would be Oldman in his mind from there on out instead of Reznov – never said anything about Jack Bauer :-D Guess he was exempt.

I guess I kind of don’t mind really. Way too many bad VAing out there. Its nice to know that some games are fixing that and giving it profensional going over.

Should have been played by Nolan North… EVERY character in the game (girls included) should be played by Nolan North =P

Nolan North is in the process of suing for not getting the role (and every other role).
