SCEE confirms £110 pricetag for GoW III Ultimate Trilogy Edition in UK

GOWIII Trilogy Edition

SCEE’s confirmed to VG247 that the God of War III Ultimate Trilogy Edition will set you back £110 when it releases in March.

The package, which consists of the God of War Collection and GoW III itself as well as some other special bits like soundtracks and exclusive DLC, was recently pencilled in for £109.99 at Game (thanks, AHA-Lambda), with a release date of March 20.

Asked if that was indeed the price, a Sony rep told us: “Yep it’s £109.99.”

SCEE didn’t tell us if the date given by Game was true or not.

The Ultimate Trilogy Edition was revealed last month, just before Christmas.

    Blunder to the extreme.

  4. AHA-Lambda

Oh well. I doubt march 20 is the real date cos that’s a saturday.

Plus it’s also available to order here (if that’s any use to you johnny):

I don’t want a box anyway. I don’t want God of War anyway.

“God of War Trilogy! Almost as expensive as an Xbox 360 Arcade!”

    #7 5 years ago
  8. AHA-Lambda

ok I laughed at both of those :)

  9. Johnny Cullen

To be fair to Sony, I am still waiting to hear back to see if it will still bundle Collection and 3 together.

    So sit tight.

  10. Doctor_Rock

I don’t understand why everyone’s so upset about the pricing.

You’re getting three games with it. 3 games that normally fetch about £40.

    3 40′s are 120 right? We’re getting off cheap!

    #10 5 years ago
  11. AHA-Lambda

2 of those games go together so that 40 not 80. Plus they didnt even sella t full price in the US so its probably more lilely to be more 30. So we have 70 so far where does the other 40 come from then >_>

    #11 5 years ago
  12. Hunam

If you think people pay £40 for GoW 1 or 2 you need some help.

You can get both GoW 1 + 2 on ebay for just over a tenner.

    #12 5 years ago
  13. No_PUDding

I will just say however, that the God of War 3 cover looks snazzy as fuck.

Black with a logo. Very hot.

    #13 5 years ago
  14. AHA-Lambda

that’s not the final box art i believe

    #14 5 years ago
  15. Psychotext

@10: That would be true if you couldn’t buy the collection for £30 now and pre-order God of War 3 for £32. So that’s ~£50 for a box and some random tat. ;)

    Pre-ordered :)

I’m a complete sucker for special editions, and God Of War 3 is by a country mile my most anticipated game of the year, and with Dream Theater on the soundtrack, that’s something I would have bought anyway.

It’s 30 pounds more than I thought it would be to be honest, but what the hell it does look great.

You nutters! You’re all part of the problem! :-D

Actually it’s 2p more expensive if you shop around.

I got GoW Collection anyway. I’ll be getting GoW3. But I wont be getting this.

  21. The Hindle

Wow even robbers wear masks Sony. Still buying the game though

    #21 5 years ago
  22. Hunam

    I’ll probably get GoW3 when it’s a tenner.

    #22 5 years ago
  23. sg1974

What’s wrong with this price? A brand new AAA game can be stickered at £55 these days. Add to that the reissue of I and II plus the extras and £110 is a reasonable sum.

For heavans sake, it will soon be £90 on Amazon anyway.

    #23 5 years ago
  24. Psychotext

I wouldn’t be surprised if Game has the exclusive on this… which means the price likely wont be going anywhere.

(until they have to get rid of the stock later)

…and again, look at the price above to see what you can actually get the games for right now.

    #24 5 years ago
  25. The Hindle

I take it you dont like GOW then

    #25 5 years ago
  26. Gekidami

    110£= 123€

    Price of GoW3: 70€

Assumed price of the Collection (going as low as a new game can be sold at): 40€

Comes to 110€, you could say the DLC and soundtracks are worth 13€… Bargin for me. Does the UK version of GAME ship outside of the UK?

    #26 5 years ago
  27. Freek

The pound is very low, so I don’t think you can do a straight conversion and come up with the Euro price point.

    #27 5 years ago
  28. AHA-Lambda

It’s not game exclusive cos it is on gamestation as well. However i don’t see anyone else selling it yet, just those 2.

    #28 5 years ago
  29. Gekidami

I know i cant Freek, thats why i’d rather import it from the UK and pay (i’m guessing) almost a quarter off the price.

And GAME UK do import, 3£ shipping.

I dont suppose anyone has a spare offer code before i checkout?

    #29 5 years ago
  30. The Hindle

I had doubts about the graphics for Gow but after seeing Posideon wow thats all i can say

    #30 5 years ago
  31. Psychotext

@AHA-Lambda: Game and Gamestation are the same company.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

    What? They mean it?

    #32 5 years ago
  33. AHA-Lambda

Yeah I knew that but sometimes Game do get exclusives that Gamestation don’t get.

Considering they are the same company essentially this might be exclusive to both or not exclusive at all. We’ll need to wait and see.

    #33 5 years ago
  34. Psychotext

Well, the Mass Effect 2 CE is “Game” exclusive, and it’s on both. ;)

    Great value,

You can’t compare publisher RRPs of future releases with discounted storefront prices of games already on sale for a while.

    #39 5 years ago
  40. Gekidami

I find that those NVG’s work pretty well :D. But yeah, i payed more for that, this collectors edition indeed has better value compared to MW2′s Prestige edition.

    #40 5 years ago
  41. Psychotext

Only idiots and perverts bought that Prestige edition. :)

    #41 5 years ago
  42. TIMCSS

This is for the real hardcore. The people that love the art and design into GOW. not just the game. The soundtracks, the art, the imagaination etc. You if dont agree with the price you dont have to buy. But for an avid GOW fan its got everything you would ever want.
Am excited about the soundtracks :D

  43. Redh3lix

How much was that Modern Campfare 2 LE pack compared to this?

    #43 5 years ago
  44. TIMCSS

    Think it was £129.99

    #44 5 years ago
  45. Gekidami

I payed round 135€ for it, though i didnt import that from the UK.

    #45 5 years ago
  46. Johnny Cullen

Modern Warfare 2 Psychotext Edition cost £1,000,000. ;)

    The less-cool Collector’s Edition cost £120

£110?! Man you can get a hooker and change for that…it will probably last longer!

I thought paying £40 for Napoleon Total War Imperial edition was alot of money!

  51. McLovin85

I really wanted to buy this but £110 is just too steep a price to pay for this Ultimate Edition. Wehn it comes down to around £70-£80 then i might get it, assuming i haven’t imported the collection from the US by then.

    #51 5 years ago
  52. zoopdeloop

The price is fair taking account what the whole collection some math and add.
If you don’t like the price just go with only GoWIII…geez

  54. freedoms_stain

I don’t have a ps3 yet so I’m hoping there’ll be some sort of God of War uber bundle out.

Otherwise I’ll see about importing the ps3 1+2 double from the US.

    #54 5 years ago
  55. Gekidami

There’ll no doubt be a GoW3 bundle but not with the Trilogy. It’ll probably end up being as available as the MW2 Prestige edition soon after launch seeing as its already been said that theres a limited number.

    #55 5 years ago
  56. Psychotext

    “do some math and add”

See last page. If you think the box and extras are worth £50 then more power to you, but not everyone thinks the same.
