Platinum “would definitely be interested in” making Madworld 2

Speaking with ONM, Platinum Games developer Shigenori Nishikawa has admitted the studio is “interested” in making Madworld 2.
In an interview with the mag, he said: “I think MadWorld was very well received and was acknowledged for its innovative graphical style and gameplay. We would definitely be interested in making a sequel in the future.”
While the game was most certainly critically “well received”, it didn’t too well saleswise.
In the March NPD last year, it was revealed the game only sold 66,000 units. The sales of the game, along with a poor showing from The Conduit, led Sega to admit last week they won’t be developing mature games for the Wii anymore.

It was a fun little game no doubt. Needs to be fleshed out and put on the 360/PS3 honestly.

I think it’d lose the pleasing physicality of the motion controls on 360/PS3. No reason it couldn’t be expanded and improved on Wii.

Make it a Natal/PS3 wand game and it could work as a multiplatform title.

They should focus on learning to program for the PS3, stop being so lazy and outsourcing their games.

That’s nice, because I would definitely be interested in playing MadWorld 2

I’d actually like to see this done with the motion controls of the PS3/360.

So how would a third person game like this play on Natal then?

Id imagine you would have to use a chainsaw and Natal would scan it

I can understand how you’d attack in a game like this with Natal (swing stuff/your arms around) but how would you move the character around?

Wouldn’t it be more prudent to fix/patch the PS3 version of Bayonetta first, before moving on to pastures new?

Platinum had little to do with the PS3 port, that was Sega that shat it out the door.
Also its a shame that no Wii owners would be interested in Madworld 2 even if Platinum are. It took a massive force of will like Suda to make No More Heroes 2 happen and thats mainly because he wanted it to.

“They should focus on learning to program for the PS3, stop being so lazy and outsourcing their games.”
How the hell do you “outsource” to the company *publishing* your games?
And the simple fact of the matter is that the PS3 is (much like the PS2) a needlessly complicated and difficult to develop for piece of hardware, so blame Sony for that. Bayonetta is not the first game to have this sort of issue.
