New Metro 2033 trailer is serious business

The game, based on the Dmitry Glukhovsky novel, was announced at a Moscow event recently, and sets the player on a mission to save a post-apocalyptic world.

The HUD-free style and commitment to story-based FPS shout put this firmly on many radars. Watch the movie to see why.

The 4A engine powering this game is based off an early version of STALKER’s X-Ray engine which the programmers were entitled to keep when leaving GSC Gameworld.

Hey, I’m just going by what wikipedia quotes from a ukranian website. I looked up because the game looks remarkably similar in rendering is all.

Actually, after watching the trailer, you can’t tell me with a straight face that 4A engine and X-Ray and different engines. I’ve been gaming my entire life, I can tell the difference between engines, and there is not much difference here. The lighting, the texture mapping, the 3D render. Very similar.
