Capcom confirms commitment to cross-platform dev

Capcom Europe's made a statement in direct response to comments made by Capcom France’s Antoine Seux to Gamekult, in which the French boss said "gamers" had "obviously moved on" from Wii.

The note in full:

Further to comments made in a recent article on French website Gamekult, Capcom would like to confirm its commitment as a multi-platform developer and publisher of interactive software.

Capcom Europe just declined to comment outside of the official statement on the phone.

Seux was originally quoted as saying:

“As for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, absolute figures are not too bad, but we’re not going to lie, they are below what we hoped. After three weeks we are a total of 16,000 units sold.

“One feels that there is a problem very clear on this style of game on the Wii, where gamers are obviously moved on. Here we can see, the customer of this console has turned to something of a much broader audience.

“It is a disappointment.”

Larks, eh?
