OPM US confirms Indy cars, night racing for GT5

gt52

The latest issue of OPM US has confirmed in its cover feature that Gran Turismo 5 will include night-time racing and Indy Racing League cars.

World Rally Championship and NASCAR have been some of the game’s racing disciplines already announced up to now.

Also noticed in the preview – by GT Planet – was confirmation of a dynamic weather system.

A new GT5 trailer was shown at the Asian Games Show over Christmas: find it here.

The Polyphony PS3 racer is out in Japan in March.

One day, one day, we’ll see the headline: Sony to (finally) release GT5.

Thought the demo was dull, but then I’m not really a simulation type. Appreciate the game for it’s realism though.

“Sony set to dominate the world in March, its possible”

Thanks to the events of 1939 through 1945, Japan is not the world.

I know PT but God of War 3 will top the charts in the west its inevitable, whilst GT5 will top the charts in Japan. What i mean is its entirely possible for Sony to have a exclusive at no 1 worldwide.

I wouldn’t say it’s inevitable… I wouldn’t even say it’s that likely. It’s going to have to beat Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to do it. (Not to mention the tiny little game called Final Fantasy XIII)

As for Japan, it would really depend what Nintendo’s got on the cards for March given the popularity of GT titles has been slipping there over time. It’s in Europe where GT will crush all.

Battlefield would have been out for 2 weeks i think as would have FF13, but who knows. The amount of marketing Sony will put behind Gow may help.

Gt will still be no 1 at least for a week in Japan regardless. I think GT 4 the last proper Gt game sold like 1.3m copies in Japan. But yea it will crush everthing in its path in Europe

“Thanks to the events of 1939 through 1945, Japan is not the world”.

? In 1940, Japan occupied French Indochina (Vietnam) upon agreement with the French Vichy government, and joined the Axis powers Germany and Italy.

In December 1941, Japan attacked USA at Pearl Harbour and several other points throughout the Pacific. Japan was able to expand her control over a large territory that expanded to the border of India in the West and New Guinea in the South within the following six months.

1939 to 1945 not for Japan and certainly not for USA.

Where’s Dan Greenwalt with his big gob and ‘definitive driving game of this generation’ now? Maybe he had a preview copy of GT5

Jesus, they ahve been busy. Good fucking show.

Day Night cycle?

No this is literally not possible.

Not with the way their engine works, it’s all art direction. How?

Doesn’t look like a day / night cycle pud. What we know so far is that each track has a night “version”.
