Aliens Vs Predator unbanned in Australia
Sega’s said that Aliens Vs Predator will be released in Australia as a 15+, with no cuts made.
The OFLC refused the game classification at the beginning of December.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our appeal,” said Darren Macbeth, Sega Australia MD.
“We are particularly proud that the game will be released in its original entirety, with no content altered or removed whatsoever.”

So….. why did they ban it in the first place? Knee-jerk reaction?

Doesnt really make much sense. How can it suddenly be suitable for 15+ without any cuts? Was the game banned the first time without even being reviewed?

According to the IGN article, the game’s content was viewed as suitable for the rating because of the context it takes place in.

The context it takes place in? I wonder if that “context” is the fact its based in the same universe as the Alien movies which you can watch in Australia.

Ah but they have an 18+ rating for films, so that would make sense.
AvP is obivously an M rated game everywhere else in the world, but somehow they managed to squeeze it through in Australia, wich is a bitt odd.
