Mass Effect 2 sentinel trailer is freakin’ amazing

masseffect25

BioWare’s put out a trailer showing off Mass Effect 2′s sentinel class, which ably shows why the RPG ranked number one among VG247 readers as next year’s most wanted game. It’s just brilliant.

Hit the link. Sci-fi agogo. It’s out for PC and 360 next month.

Coupled with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6fuiNpTHzY ,my Mass Effect senses are tingling with excitement, with this and Dragon Age (which I still haven’t finished) my RPG desires are being fulfilled nicely. Not to mention SWTOR as well at some point next year.

Argghhh… I mustn’t watch it. I’ve been trying to keep myself in the dark.

But I must watch it.

NO! I WILL BE STRONG. :(

I like it, I likes it a lot. I must finish playing the first one again, keep on starting it and then never getting round to doing it as other games get in the way…

“freakin’ amazing” is a bit of an overstatement I believe. Looks good. Definitley not THAT good, IMO. :)

More like “freakin’ amazing” is a bit of an understatement, my mad, crazy man!

It’s been a very, very long time since a simple gameplay trailer got me extremely excited about the imminent release of a new game. The last time a trailer did that for me was probably the first English language video of FFXII.

God, I can’t wait for this…

That’s cool. Does nothing for this gamer….I just don’t see what’s amazing about it. To each his own. :)

You’re mad then! Or dead inside…

Probably both.

Great ASSumption based on my opinion of a game trailer. I’m sure you’re kidding though. ;)

So what decisions do you guys think will carry over into ME 2?

Me making non-malicious jokes seems to be coming as something of a shock to people’s systems…

“So what decisions do you guys think will carry over into ME 2?”

Anything that directly involves the first one. If someone died in the first one, they won’t appear in the second one. That kind of thing.

Never cared for Michael O’Connor and his prominent display of disrespect and implied superiority towards others.

As if me stating my opinion warrants his “non-malicious” insult of a reply.

Man this looks good.
Do I need to play the first one first?

You don’t have to, but you’ll certainly have a much broader understanding of the lore of the universe and the back-story if you do.

I’m going to have to agree with Dr.Ghettoblaster, I didn’t think it was a bad trailer, but it kind of showed us the same thing over and over again with a bit of variation and seemed to be set in an unexciting cookie-cutter warehouse level.

I mean the powers looked pretty cool, but it didn’t quite tickle my “freakin’ amazing” bone.

Yeah man id play the first just because of all the cool choices you have to make. ME 2 also references these choices as well btw.

Have to say i’m also in the minority of people who didn’t find that trailer all that exciting. Probably had something to do with it being more of a ‘class bio’ than an actual trailer. And the woman’s boring, uninspiring voice didn’t really help.
Still haven’t played the first one though but hope to do so before this hit later next year.

Sweet. A sentinel video may not be exciting for some of you but this class was my first playthrough and I am glad every class so far has its own unique ability. I can’t wait to play sentinel again on the sequel.

Sentinel always struck me as the worst class to play in ME1. This video looks like they’ve been buffed a bit.

So, where’s the vanguard video? :)

@Cavalier

Bioware has made deals with Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers. They released the vanguard trailer at Gametrailers. They buffed that class even more so too especially with that “Rush” ability.

Funny, I like Mass Effect and will get the sequel, but I just didn’t see the first as a great title – it was very good, but had clear flaws in a number of areas that kept it from being truly great.

Hopefully ME2 will iron those out, particularly the ‘barren universe’ syndrome where, in truth, only a few planets were actually interesting or detailed and everywhere else was an empty ball with a few bad guys waiting around in the middle of nowhere for you to come and fight them.

I hope combat and aiming is tightened up – and I hope on PC (where I play it) they tweak the damn dialogue interface from being console controller centric to something that actually works well with a K&M.

I’d also like to see Shepard actually develop more than a carboard cutout standard SF personality this time around.

Oh no. Mass Effect 2 has an ammo mechanic.

Yum! Am I going to be able to resist picking this up close to launch? Doubtful.
