VGAs – True Crime trailered, United Front developing
Activision trailered a True Crime reboot at the VGAs last night, as you can see after the break.
Canadian developer United Front‘s doing the work. It’s the same outfit behind ModNation Racers.
The new game’s set in China, featuring an undercover cop against the Triads. For those that may not remember, True Crime: Streets of L.A. was originally developed by Luxoflux, and released in 2003.
A sequel, True Crime: New York City, released in 2005, again by Luxoflux.
There’s no date on this. Get all the rest of the show news from Steph’s liveblog.

This trailer wanted to be a Rockstar trailer so badly it almost burst a gasket trying. They didn’t do too bad a job, either – it’s certainly got potential as a GTA-a-like. Need to see some game, though – the original True Crime games were hardly all-time classics.

Streets of LA was just plain awesome.
Words fail me, but it was just awesome.
Streets of NY though was just tripe.
I hope this one is more LA then NY.

I loved the first cause it was a open world max payne action pack, but didn’t play the second one, sounds like I didn’t miss anything… I Hope it’s going to be as cool as the first, maybe something like frame city killer?

Streets of LA was shit.
It just goes to show that creating a city based on a real one is much better than simply trying to recreate the city properly. Real LA is such a dull setting for a game, with block after block of boring buildings.

Sure hope there’s online co-op and competitive multiplayer. Seems strange for a big and important effort like this to be done by people making the puny modnation racers.
