Spike 2009 Video Game Awards Liveblog is a GO!
Here we go again with another liveblog kiddos. This time the 2009 Video Game Awards.
To keep you up to date we are liveblogging the whole thing as it happens on the television.
The schedule says that it should start around 8:00pm EST – that’s around 1:00am for the UK, and 2:00am for those elsewhere in Europe – should you decide to stay up with us.

Ok so far not impressed at all with the show only thing that is good so far are the world premiers.
Show is missing something the crowd seems dead also.
Best Premiers so far Batman and Star Wars
Worst so far was Tron.

Batman was awesome. Still don’t think Jack Black should have won for best voice. Mark Hamil should have no offense to Nolan North.

Yes I totally agree. I like Jake Black But I had a tough Choice in picking Between Hamill and Nolan North. I picked North ( 2 Great Games ) My Fav 2 of the Year But I have to go with UC2 any other Year Batman Hands down….

The silly thing about the votes for these is that the same person could vote in the same award category 100 times if they really wanted to, which kinda messes up it up from the start.
Great to see Batman AA2, really enjoyed the first. Just hope it keeps the stuff that made Batman AA so great. Star Wars FU2, a little surprised but not very surprised as it was bound to happen, I would have prefered to see something like Battlefront 3 but FU2 will hopfully redeem itself as I heard the first was good but not great. Also nice to see it’s not actually carryin on straight from FU Add-ons or if it is, he just didnt feel like wearing hes mask

Great results, bar a few questionable awards the best games won.
Especially Uncharted 2 which deserved it’s three awards!!

I see that the touted ’2 minutes of Halo Reach ingame footage’ turned out to be 2 minutes of FMV using more effects and higher res character models then you’ll actually see when you’re playing.
Its good to know who won what but in the end the show really didnt live up to the Geoff-hype; Arkham 2 was a great surprise but everything else they showed was nothing special.
Special mention to MoH though; If it was in CoD4-MW2 it looks like MoH is trying it.

VGAs were a big yawn fest capped with 2 crappy performances from some faggy emo band and snoop dog being desperate for money as usual by performing anywhere people would recognize him..
The crowd was awful, glad I’m not the only one who noticed that. If you’re gonna do a show about VGs… heres a hint.. invite people who are VG nerds not ‘pretty people’ so the crowd looks good but then doesnt even clap for games winning… duh.
Only thing I was happy to see was UC2 winning GotY.
Premiers were pretty yawn inducing as well.. Tron made me lulz with how awful it looked.
Force Unleashed 2… meh.. first game was returned to gamestop as soon as I beat it 3 days after release.. lol.
