Everyone I know that bought a Wii. Did so because of Wii Sports. You either have a free game with a 250usd console, or you have a 250usd game with a free console. Either way I think the logic is valid. Wii sports sold the system. Apply the same thinking to Super Mario World packed in with the SNES or Mario Bros. with the NES. I think there is a difference between a new system that launches with a pack in and an established system tossing a pre-exsiting game in the box to give added value. In truth, either way if a person buys a game system with said pack in, often times they did so because they wanted the game packed in too. Sure there are exceptions, life is full of exceptions. But in the immortal words of BDH, them words are solid. As for the DS? Who cares? In the states the overwhelming majority of gameboy owners are kids. Nothing wrong with that mind you, but I don't think anyone sits there and ponders buying a DS instead of a Wii/xb360/PS3. I think they buy the DS in addition to a living room game system. Yes adults buy handhelds too, I own a PSP infact. But again it isn't a choice between it and a home console. They do two different things in my book.
