Dragon Age sells over 1 million pieces of DLC

More than 1 million pieces of Dragon Age: Origins DLC have now been sold, EA boss John Riccitiello’s told NBR.

“We said that Dragon Age… sold really, really well, and actually did a million pieces of downloadable content already, which is an astonishing outcome,” said the exec.

Dragon Age, BioWare’s latest fantasy RPG, shipped globally in early November.

The DLC is way overpriced.

Yes because you have better 5$ to spend. Sorry but 5$ was not hard to seperate from to pay for an extra 2 hours of playing this great game.

He said “did” not sold. Very important difference as one piece of DLC was given away free inside the box via a code.

If that quote is word for word accurate it is very open to interpretation. It could easily mean that the the main game sold well and that they have distributed – either via sales or by being bundled with the main game – a million pieces of DLC.

hope this mean we will see more quality rpgs like dragon age!

It is nice to see that the mature audience that wants something deeper that call of duty is big enough for titles like dragon age to be created! I hope for many more games like this!

@Aperson

DAO was made by Bioware which if you don’t know who they are; Balduar’s Gate 1 and 2, KOTOR, NWN, Mass Effect, Jade Empire. None of their RPGs are sub par, they go for story over anything else.

@Phoenixblight

They were all fantastic games, but none of them managed to combine the brilliance and dept of the very old 2d rpg games with the polish and quality of the new games.

Dragon age got the better of two worlds, and that is what makes me personally think of it as a milestone in games history.

And I have done my geeky homework and have played most of Biwares titles, and we have seen a gradual evolution of their titles. But I just see DAO as a milestone because you have to put a milestone somewere and DAO is a fine place to put it.
