I like games like that. Hack and slash old school flavoured games. Toss in a bit of leveling and char development, and I am in. I miss games like Champions of Norath, Dungeon and Dragon Heros, Phantasy Star Online, heck I would be giddy for a well done Gauntlet game.

Viking was great but far too fiddly when it came to the actual fighting. I'd like to see ROME make it to a console in some way, even if it's akin to Viking.

i loved Spartan: Total Warrior and enjoyed Viking, to me it felt like Viking needed another few months in development

i'd like to see them do that 'loads of bad guys/huge battles' idea but wrap it in an Diablo-esque RPG enviornment

Yeah I agree, Viking was a fun game. Wasn't the greatest action game ever, but it was enjoyable time. Stormrise I was looking forward to, but clearly the ball got dropped, though I'm still hopefully that CA can turn out a good RTS for consoles at some point.

Oh and they also did Spartan: Total Warrior, which has an average Metacritic score of 73, but is actually a rather good action game. It just happened to come out in 2005 after God of War which meant it got badly over looked I think.

To be fair Viking was pretty good. Maybe not in some sort of technical achievment/benchmarking type of things. It was hohum in that dept. But where it actualy counted, fun. It was pretty good. I didn't play stormrise. Console RTS games kinda of scare me.
