GT Academy 2010 Time Trial will give “first opportunity” to play GT5

Here we go. The EU PS Blog’s just confirmed that a GT Academy 2010 Time Trial will release on December 17.

As the Blog puts it, “It will be the first opportunity to get a hands-on taster as to what Yamauchi-san and his Polyphony team have been carefully crafting and polishing at their Tokyo base.”

It’s not clear as yet whether this is actually GT5 code or just a new track using the Prologue build. We’re checking now.

Competition-wise, if you qualify in the top twenty within your country and you will be invited to a national final event. If you make it from there only then will you join the 20 that will be taken into the GT Academy 2010.

Ugh… now I’m hearing it’s not actually a demo of the new code, but done using Prologue.

I guess it wont be long to wait to find out.

It can’t be GT5 code. I went hands on with it 2 weeks ago and it’s a jaggedy mess with shadows less than a quarter of the framebuffer.

if it is, it’d be awesome.

It’s not a demo of GT5.

It’s ‘GT Academy 2010′… It’s a time trial event using prologue’s engine on a GT5 track.

In other words… another pointless release. JUST RELEASE GT5 ALREADY!
