Pets coming to Xbox Live for your Avatar tomorrow
The Major has announced that you can get pets for your Avatar starting tomorrow through the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Each will run you 240 MS Points ($3.00/£2.04/€2.79) and the choices are: Large Dog, Pug Dog, Dog in Bag, Cat, Siamese Cat, Long Haired Cat, Goldfish, Guinea Pig, Monkey, Bird, Snake and a Pony.
We know which one we want. Giddyup.

“Pets” is a big word. You could call the remote control warthog a ‘pet’ in that sense.

I just wonder if they will do more than the items, which hang around for a few seconds then disappear again.

I hope there are undomesticated pets such as panthers, foxes, vultures, kangaroos, grizzly bears, and giraffes. Better yet, add some mythical creatures such as cerberus.
