FFXIII is 50-60 hours long

ffxiii

FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama has told a mysterious Japanese magazine – we’re assuming it’s Famitsu – that his imminent RPG won’t be for the faint-hearted in terms of time-commitment.

“For XIII, the size of the entire game is considerable,” he said, as reported by Kotaku.

“Just running through the main story takes experienced players over 50 hours. For the first time, I think it’s possible to play through in full in about 60 hours or so.”

All you 10-hour namby pambies had better man-up, innit. The Japanese version’s out next week. Europe and America get it in March.

I can get over the graphic changes after all I still play Chrono Trigger (Have the PSOne version) but is the overall story still the same or did they change that too?

The actual story is the same, but this time has both a male and female option for the Player Character.

I will miss wondering around the town though. Mechanically it does the same thing as the PS2 version, but it wont have the same joy of strolling around talking to folks you spot. Mostly though it is an odd change as there is nothing in P3 that the PSP couldn’t do both in terms of grunt and storage.

I would gladly play the original but as stated the PS2 just can’t play on HD. I have attempted it once and it just looked god awful. FFX looked like I was playing FF7. Something like this with P3 on the PSP, I guess will do. I wish I never got rid of my 32 inch Standard Def TV.

I know what you mean, I ended up buying a cheapish 15″ TV that i’ve got the Wii and PS2 plugged into in my bedroom.

Persona 4 is awesome. the only game i’ve ever pulled my PS2 out of storage for.

60 hours for ff13. i’d be pleasently surprised. i can usually breeze an ff game in 40 hours or so.
