Kotaku’s just posted the first imagery from THQ’s 40K MMO – go see.
This has been locked down tighter than Dennis Nielsen until now. Don’t expect too much yet, but at least these do show that you shouldn’t scared if you thought anyone was going to deviate from the IP’s general feel.
It’s being developed in Texas by Vigil. No date.

WHats the difference between EA Warhammer and THQ’s?
Patrick Garratt said:
Warhammer and Warhammer 40K are separate. The first is a fantasy IP, the second is sci-fi. EA has the first, THQ has the latter. They’re both Games Workshop IPs though, obviously.

Ahh same races and all that just different settings?
Patrick Garratt said:
Pretty much. Elves are Eldar, Orcs and Orks, etc.

Different races from what I know. Think Dawn of War for 40k and Warhammer online for just plain Warhammer.
It’s like Lord of the rings and Star Wars in a comparison.

Surely EA cant be to happy about this.

I’d prefer to see more on 40k: Space Marine. That’s not to say I believe that this won’t be good fun, or anything, though.

Vigil has a kick ass team on paper but this along with Darksiders are their first games so…I guess we’ll see.
