GI’s reporting that Championship Manager developer Beautiful Game Studios is to lose around 80 percent of its staff.
“Posts will either be cut or relocated to China in a cost-cutting exercise, while Roy Meredith will continue to lead the studio, and the ChampMan brand will remain headquartered in London,” says the report.
The studio was bought up by Square Enix along with the rest of Eidos earlier this year.
More through there.

It’s never nice to hear about people losing their jobs, but even at £2.51 I regretted buying CM 2010.

“Relocated to China” – the words that strike fear in the hearts of all in the Western work force.

Poor Eidos have gone through the mill of late. I know several people from my time there who have lost their jobs.

Well it is a business if they are not pulling their weight the publishers have to make a decision on whats important. If the people have the skills they will get hired by other companies.
It sucks and it really falls on the big wigs for all the people losing their jobs imo.

It’d be great if Squeenix’s influence rubs off on the franchise.
Could almost imagine the next Champ Man game being turn based.
