Japanese hardware charts – PlayStation rules roost

ps3slim3

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Week ending November 15. PSP and PS3 have seen off both Wii and DS to take first and second place in this week’s Japanese hardware chart, as you can see below.

Big Kaz will be pleased. Watch in awe as the ten-year plan unfolds before your very eyes. Or not. Whatever.

  • PSP – 38,770
  • PS3 – 38,498
  • DSi – 33,749
  • Wii – 26,764
  • PSP go – 6,427
  • DS Lite – 5,036
  • Xbox 360 – 4,124
  • PS2 – 2,031

Kaz won’t be happy about those PSP Go numbers. Ouch.

Meh, the PSP is still the best selling system in japan. Combined sales of the Go and the regular PSP are still above those of the DSi and DS Lite.
Total combined Sony units sold: 85726
Everyone else: 69673
I think this is finally proof that the Wii bubble has finally burst and that MS has absolutely no chance in hell of breaking Japan.

Nintendo have commented that lack of strong titles is the main reason for the Wii’s loss of momentum. Is New Super Mario Bros Wii out in Japan yet?

@Bojangles
I would have thought so.
It’s out today in Blighty.
Who was the developer? Not that it matters.

It’s not out in Japan until December 3rd. Bizarrely, the West got it first.
