At least for me, it’s not that I can’t dish out the 50 dlls for Xbox LIVE, it’s the fact that for 3 years now PSN has been free and they’ve let their customers get used to that and enjoy it that way. Now all of a sudden they’re going to charge for something they provided for no cost.

They let customers get used to the product for free and now they want to charge. It’s like a cable network where they give you some extra channels for a month or two to convince you to subscribe to the more expensive package, but not for three years, give me a break.

If PSN charged right from the beginning I would’ve still paid for the subscription.

It seems unlikely that they’d start charging for what players have already. It’ll probably be something like a ‘pay a flat fee, get a certain number of movies/downloadable games per month’ thing.

You’re on that funny pipe again. There are more 360s than PS3s out there, which kind of explains why most (not all) multi-platform games sell better on the MS console. And, as a rule, people who own a 360 tend to play online using Live, and people who own a PS3 most often play online using PSN. Funny that.

For all we know this could be a subscription service for the new Video Store. It’s not much to go on.

Also, I’ll never understand people who complain about PSN “not working properly”. I’ve been playing games over it for nearly 3 years and the experience has always been comparable to Xbox Live, the only difference being sideline features like cross-game chat. People seem to bash it for the sake of bashing it.

i dont think that they will just chage the PSN as is and make it not free anymore.
they will rather put out something extra where u have to pay for.

its not as if Xbox Live subscriptions cripple you financially, its embarrassing “NOW WAY I’M PAYING FOR ONLINE” yet some paid £400 for the machine at launch with hardly any decent games for nearly a year. lifes too short, if you want a better Playstation Network, it will cost you and if you dont like that then tough shit.

Clearly Sony realise a good idea when it works.

I’d be surprised if this was a flat out subscription service though. I’m guessing it will probably be some sort of “extra privileges” on top of the already existing capabilities of the service.

If it does mean online playing costs money, I hope I can still publish LBP levels without paying. But it could just mean that you get some content earlier if you pay or another Quore thing, which would be fine for me.
