I don't get why you are acting so defensive.

You've got an opinion and I've got one as well. They do not match, but they are equally subjective and valid. We can always agree to disagree.

I only brought metascores into the argument because it's a more objective (yet not defining) measurement. It doesn't invalidate your opinion or your right to have one. What's the problem?

And since we are on the subject, what's the point of going back to a game you think is crap?

The Max Payne game's are still amazing. My opinions and your opinions seem to be intensely opposite to each other.

Anyway, back on track, another great review as always Nathan. You seem to have a knack for these.

It's no game of the year, but I enjoyed it immensely while it lasted.

I've not played the game at all but WET's japanese localisation appears to be cancelled (Google translation) for 360. No comment on PS3 version though.

I thought the Max Payne games were great for their time. Wouldn't go back though.

Lord forbid someone has an opinion that doesn't prescribe to the popular one. Lord forbid I come to my own conclusions instead of looking at what *other* people thought of the game.

I wasn't aware a person's opinion was meant to be defined by *other* people's opinions.

I couldn't give a rats ass what other reviewers of the game thought of it when my own critical observations of Max Payne (and yes, I do go back and try to play it recently) lead me to the observation that it's a bad game.

Each to his own I guess.

Unless Wet's demo is not representative of the final game, 'fluid' is not how I would describe the gameplay, but that's just my opinion.

What is more objective, however, is how the gaming media reviewed them. The original Max Payne carries a metascore of 89 and the sequel a 86, while Wet only reached 70; hardly sets the gaming world on fire I'm sure you will agree.

Even for it's time, Max Payne looks like crap.

Wet's gameplay is more fluid and well executed, and with a lot of flair. Max Payne didn't do anything any better than WET does.

Nostalgia is a cruel mistress, but then, I thought Max Payne was shite even back when it originally came out.

Michael, I haven't played Wet (apart from the demo that is), but I honestly cannot even compare it to either Max Payne games, let alone call them 'crap'.
