Namco trademarks Ridge Racer Accelerated

ridgeracer

Ridge Racer Accelerated has been trademarked by Namco in Japan, reports Siliconera.

That’s it. Hopefully it’ll turn into something a pink-shirted Kaz Hirai can shout about on a stage in Los Angeles sometime soon.

Thanks, CVG.

Please don’t be a spin-off, please don’t be for portables, please be for PS3/360.

It would be fantastic to see a totally original new Ridge Racer :D I’ve enjoyed practically every edition of the series that I’ve played. The gameplay’s near peerless!

Should I just come clean and admit that I liked the Ridge Racer which had the story in it? Can’t remember it’s name, but it’s the game the asset comes from.

Loved it.

I love the Ridge franchise, I own pretty much every game in the series aside from the N64 one. Hopefully this will be a return to form, I thought the last two were pretty dull and took forever to even get to cars with some reasonable speed. The tracks were really lacking that Ridge Racer spark too.

I’d like them to go back to the roots of the original RR but with next-gen graphics with a sunny city and beachside to race around.
